Summer Summary

I promised I would fill you in on what my life was like this summer. And guess what? The time is NOW.

  1. Alaskan Cruise - My family, boyfriend and I went on a seven day Alaskan Cruise. Our ports included Seward (my favorite!), Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and Icy Strait Point. I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful the trip was. We started off in Seward, a very small town with a to-die-for backdrop. My dad did months of planning before the trip so we could go on the perfect excursions. In Seward, the “kids” (my brother, sister, boyfriend and I) went on an 8 hour kayaking trip that included a nice shore lunch and a hike. We were treated like royalty on our cruise ship, Radiance of the Seas. If anyone ever gets to go, I hope you get Everton and Melvin as your waiters. They were amazing! The food was fantastic, the scenery was gorgeous and the activities on the ship were endless. I can’t imagine a better trip for a family!
  2. Canadian Fishing Trip: In June, I went with my boyfriend’s grandparents and cousins on a fishing trip up in Eagle Lake in Ontario. We had the time of our lives! Our television-less living room was filled with lively conversation, wonderful fish lunches and alarm clocks ready to wake us up at sunrise. I’m happy to say that I caught a 27 inch Walleye (which I heard is mounting worthy) and tons of other fish. I was also inches from catching a Musky. He grabbed onto a Northern that I was reeling up but let go right before I got it into the boat.
  3. Missouri Farm Trip: I traveled a gruesome 24 hours in two days to see some of my London friends. I had the TIME OF MY LIFE milking cows and camping out, even though we were tormented by the terrifying thunderstorm!
  4. I worked at a golf course as a snack bar attendant, and met all kinds of wonderful people :)
That’s all for now! I’ll fill you in on the start of the schoolyear soon. I cant’ believe I’m a senior already! Time really does fly when you’re having fun.
