About Me
Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out my blog- I’ve been writing for three and a half years and still love to brag about how awesome SLU is
Here’s a little bit about me:
I’m a senior majoring in Occupational Therapy and minoring in Spanish. I’m also part of the University Honors Program, a member of Alpha Phi Omega (co-ed service fraternity), the Student Occupational Therapy Association, and Alpha Sigma Nu (the Jesuit Honors Society). I’m originally from Waukesha, WI which is about a half hour away from Milwaukee.
I have two older sisters, both who graduated from SLU. One of my sisters, Becca, is a Physical Therapist at Miami Children’s Hospital and got married in July 2011- so I finally have a brother! His name is Denny, and he is a volleyball coach at a Fort Lauderdale middle and high school. My other sister, Angela, is a Clinical Psychologist at the Cleveland VA on a Spinal Cord Injury Floor. Both my parents live in Waukesha, where my mom is a teacher in a Catholic Grade School, and the rest of my extended family lives either in Wisconsin or Illinois.
I love to travel, cook, eat, go shopping, dance, watch movies, read, and, most importantly, spend time with my friends and family. I’ve been fortunate to find a great group of friends here at SLU, and I’m still close with my friends from Wisconsin who I love to visit when I come home. I’m huge fan of the Green Bay Packers, and I absolutely love watching NFL games! I love SLU, and have really enjoyed my time here in St. Louis. My favorite St. Louis activities include shows at the Fox Theater, Cardinals games, and trying out all of the fabulous restaurants located in St. Louis (I’m quite the food connoisseur). In Spring 2010 I studied in Spain at SLU Madrid, an American Jesuit University owned by SLU, and had an amazing time both in Spain and traveling around Europe. I already have about 10 trips written down that I want to go back for!
Well that gives you a basic background about me. If you have any questions about SLU, just comment on my blog and I would be happy to email you back!
Katie,
Enjoyed your blog. But sweetie, Waukesha is NOT a suburb of Milwaukee.
Glad all is going well.
Love,
Uncle Joe
Hey Katie,
It sounds like you are having a great time!! I am ready to go back to college. Enjoy and I will talk to you soon.
I’m considering SLU for school, you make it sound and look exciting and fun!
Cousin Katie,
While I am an avid reader of your blog, I must admit there is a serious lack of cousin Rob on the blog. I expect that this trend will begin to shift? I want a whole article. All on me. And when I have my own blog I will repay the favor.
Much Love from Minneapolis,
Rob
Hey Katie,
My name Elena and i was accepted into the DPT program at SLU and would like to minor in spanish as well so between you and your sister i’m sure you know a lot about both. I read your blog the other night and it sounds like a lot of fun however i’m currently trying to decide between SLU or Notre Dame and it’s the harrrdest thing i have ever done so i mean if you could maybe find me on facebook (probably better) or email if that’s what you prefer to maybe answer some question about the program and SLU in general that would be ammmaazing. I go to H. H. Dow High School in midland, mi if you do end up searching me on facebook. but i guess a first question to get it started is, is there (from probably what your sister has said) a huge huge benefit from doing a 6 yr DPT program that she noticed or like any thoughts on hindsight about idk anything really…
Thanks so much i really liked reading your blog!
Katie-
I just applied to SLU and reading your blog definitely helped convince me to apply! Reading about the student life, not just class life is a big help and I’m so happy to hear that Saint Louis has so much to offer! I love music too and if I get accepted can’t wait to check out the concerts!
Keep up the great blogging and hopefull I’ll see you on campus!
