Sue Artis, M.A., is the Chair of the Renaissance Programs in Education at the School for Professional Studies. Sue is also a retired elementary teacher with more than 30 years of teaching experience. Her experience includes 23 years as a classroom teacher and 8 years as a Reading Specialist, Reading Recovery Teacher, and Literacy Coach. She has taught undergraduate- and graduate-level literacy courses at various universities. She also consults in the areas of reading, writing, and implementation of balanced literacy and literacy coaching.
Sue’s blogging interests include teaching reading at the elementary levels, reading in the content areas, and teaching reading and writing to struggling students.
