Sherry Wright-Gully
Sherry Wright-Gully is a current SPS student, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Studies with a minor in Criminal Justice. She currently works in the Physician Assistant Department at Saint Louis University.
Sherry is the divorced mother of two beautiful daughters and one handsome grandson. She has a love affair with writing and a passion for theatre. She is the founder of SRD & Wright Ministry of Performing Arts, Inc., which was founded out of her experience of writing and producing full-length stage plays.
To date, Sherry has written and produced five stage plays and one short film. Her plays include Single Wives (2003), Dancing on the Edge (2005), Unpleasant Excitement (2007), The Color of Rain (2008), and Circle of Influence (2009). She also wrote and submitted her first short film entitled, Matters of the Heart to BET for a Lens on Talent Competition and plans to turn it into her next play. It is Sherry’s goal to write 10 plays and become a traveling production company.
Sherry has been featured in newspapers such as the St. Louis Argus and The Monitor. She received media attention from the Saint Louis American Newspaper for her production, Circle of Influence, performed at the Missouri History Museum in June 2009. This production will be showing again in various locations. Sherry’s theatrical experience has afforded her the opportunity to be interviewed on TV and on twice on radio. Her production, Unpleasant Excitement, has also been featured in the Magazine Today in Church.
Sherry is very excited about her accomplishments and credits God for her gift.
