Multimedia Services and Computer Labs

With computing and technology more integrated into course curriculum, ITS provides resources to enhance the teaching and learning environment at SLU.

Please select the appropriate link below for more information on computer and multimedia labs available to the SLU community.

  • Multimedia Labs - Small groups of computer workstations with extended capabilities and other multimedia resources with advanced tools for creating classroom presentations and learning materials.
  • Multimedia Resources - Information on learning carrels and self-service facilities for automated test grading, laminating, mat cutting, dry mounting, video editing, and audio copying/editing.
  • Open Computer Labs - Information and locations of general use computer labs with PCs available to the University community.

Multimedia Labs
The Instructional Media Center (IMC) offer computer workstations with specialized tools for creating presentations and educational materials.The IMC is located in the Xavier Hall Annex, Room 103, with the following tools:

  • Audio, video and graphics software
  • Black and white, color and poster printing 
  • Slide Scanning
  • Flatbed Scanning up to 11x17 and "OCR"
  • Audio and video digitizing
  • Audio/video recording facility 
  • DVD and CD Recording
  • Finishing tools and supplies for printing presentations
  • Viewing carrels

Multimedia Resources 

The Instructional Media Center (IMC) and the Instructional Technology Center (ITC) provide a number of self-service multimedia resources, including: learning carrels, finishing tools, video and audio editing. A Scantron automated grading system is also available for grading standardized test forms.

Open Computer Labs 

These labs are available for general computing and include the basic University licensed software (Microsoft Office, EndNote, SPSS, etc.) and select open source applications. Billiken Print access is also available in many of these areas, either for internal printing or as a release point for wireless printing.

The McDonnell Douglas Hall public lab is intended for general use by the SLU community.
