Boeing Institute of International Business

Established in 1984, the Boeing Institute of International Business at Saint Louis University’s John Cook School of Business offers a breadth of global business resources for students and alumni, as well as the business community, faculty, government and professional organizations.

The institute’s existence was spearheaded by Seung Kim, Ph.D., a former director of the institute and current chairman of SLU’s Department of International Business. His goal is to continue strengthening and expanding global programs through leadership and relationships.

The Boeing Institute of International Business offers many learning opportunities focused on international business at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels, as well as events, professional programs, and a global research and data center.

Boeing Distinguished Guest Lecture

Our Distinguished Guest Lecture program is offered every spring semester. It provides a forum to bring a high-level speaker to campus to share insights on a current topic of interest.

Research

Businesses rely on research to predict, manage and respond to business trends. The Boeing Institute not only offers a variety of programs and events on international business but is also committed to helping businesses understand the challenges and trends of conducting business globally. Through our research and publications, we help companies and individuals stay abreast on global business issues.

Data Center

Through SLU’s highly qualified faculty in international business and the global executives who have partnered with the institute, we produce many scholarly activities and publications.

Our Missouri International Business Data Center was launched through a partnership with the State of Missouri, St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association, the World Trade Center St. Louis and the U.S. Department of Commerce. The first of its kind in the region, this data center serves as a hub of information on global business activity.

Missouri Foreign Direct Investment

In 2009, the Data Center at the Boeing Institute of International Business published the Foreign Direct Investment summary for Missouri. This first of its kind report was made possible through the generous support of The Boeing Company and the U.S. Department of Education.

Contributions from several invaluable partners, such as the State of Missouri, the World Trade Center Saint Louis, the Missouri Partnership, and the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association, were also critical to the completion of the publication.
