About the Center

SLU’s Center for Supply Chain Management offers training and education about various supply chain tools and activities — such as supplier relationships, purchasing management, operations and inventory management, logistics and transportation, quality measurement and information technology — through programs, events, publications and interactions with corporate supply chain professionals.

We have devised three basic goals and objectives to help train professionals to meet the industry’s demand. We:

  • Provide management training seminars on the best practice application within the global supply chain management field to improve the financial performance of organization
  • Actively support academic and curriculum development in the area of global supply chain management for the area colleges and universities
  • Engage in advanced research on application tools in the supply chain management field

The center is able to meet these objectives through our diverse membership and partnerships, including affiliation with leading companies in the St. Louis metropolitan region, including: APICS and the American Society for Quality, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, Institute for Supply Management, Missouri Enterprise, National Contract Management Association and National Defense Transportation Association.

Certificate Programs

The center’s certificates, workshops and programs train individuals to integrate and coordinate the management of supply chain activities (transportation, warehousing, inventory management, production planning/scheduling, procurement and information systems) to improve the overall effort of firms.

Through our diverse programs and expert instructors, individuals learn how to develop consistent and dependable customer service levels, leading to better management of supply chain activities and related assets. Our offerings allow every member of the supply chain industry significant opportunities to improve corporate profitability and return on assets.
