Cost Of Care

Fees collected at the time of service go toward the operation of the school's clinics and make it possible to offer dental services for Endodontics (root canals), Orthodontics (braces), and Periodontics (gum disease, implants) at a more reasonable price than in the private sector. We accept most insurance plans, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, CareCredit, and personal checks; however, we do not accept Medicaid or Medicare.  Insurance is currently filed as a courtesy to our patients.

Fees for endodontic and periodontic services are generally 50-60% less than fees charged in private practices in the St. Louis area and payment is due at time of service.  Fees for orthodontic services are generally 30% less than fees charged in the St. Louis area for private practice.  Financing options are available for orthodontic services.

We offer several different levels of treatment and we have discounts that include SLU employee and family discounts. Find out more about our payment options.

Selected Services

Early Orthodontic Treatment
This is treatment for young children with baby teeth, or a mixture of baby and adult teeth, that can diminish the length of time that is required for full treatment. (This is a separate fee with part of the fee being applied toward the full treatment fee.)

Full Orthodontic Treatment - Basic
There are separate fees for adolescents (under 21) and adults. Our basic fee includes all records and diagnostics, full treatment, and first set of retainers. Reduced fees are offered for low complexity cases, re-treatment, and single-arch treatment.

Additional Orthodontic Charges
There are additional fees for Invisalign and Lingual Braces, ceramic brackets, and replacement retainers.

Other Services
We offer Cone Beam X-rays onsite, both for our patients and for outside patients from referring dentists. These 3D x-rays, if needed, are included in the cost of care for our patients. (Discounts are offered for cone beam x-rays for patients referred by SLU faculty and alumni.)

Higher purpose. Greater good.
