Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice
Who: You and 19 fellow Billikens!
Where: Washington D.C.
When: November 12-14, 2016
What: The Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice (IFTJ) - an annual gathering in Washington,
D.C., to commemorate the UCA martyrs and an opportunity for members of the Ignatian family
(Jesuit institutions and larger church) to come together in the context of social justice and
solidarity. During the two day conference members of SLU's delegation will learn, reflect,
network, and explore the integral connection between faith and justice. The Teach-In is a place
where participants are empowered, re-energized, inspired, challenged, and supported in their
work for social change. The weekend culminates in a day of advocacy on Capitol Hill with your
senators and representatives!
Why: In words of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., "Our lives begin to end the day we become
silent about things that matter."
Interested students are invited to complete the application by Monday, September 14
at 12:00pm. More information about the Teach-In can be found at ignatiansolidarity.net. For
