Welcome to Campus Ministry at Saint Louis University! Campus Ministry is part of the Division of Student Development and supports the mission of the University in the pursuit of truth for the greater glory of God and for the service of humanity. To this end, Campus Ministry welcomes all students, regardless of faith orientation, to our office and to our programs. We encourage you to explore your faith and spirituality, engage our Campus Ministers, and participate in our programs and opportunities through our office and our website. Please feel free to stop by our office at any time. We welcome you and welcome your interests!

On a personal note, I am originally from Chicago and have worked in student affairs administration as well as for a Catholic non-profit in Milwaukee, WI. My favorite retreat house is the Jesuit Retreat Center in Oshkosh where I can keep attune to God's desires through the silence. My two cats, Charlie and Bernard, also made the trip to St. Louis with me and in my spare time I love to read, listen to music, and cook.

Hello! I am excited to join SLU Campus Ministry. I grew up in Wyoming as one of five kids. Before leaving home I learned to cook and love outdoor adventures. Between there and here, I studied International Politics at Georgetown University, traveled in the Americas and India, worked in prison ministry in Belize with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, and learned to love scripture while studying theology in Berkeley. At SLU I coordinate Campus Ministry's immersion programs, the Urban Plunge Retreat, and other opportunities to engage the life of faith in works for justice. I am also interested in exploring how our efforts for justice nourish the spiritual life. Beyond work and social justice, I enjoy cooking, building things, and exploring my new home in St. Louis.

Hello friends! I came to St. Louis from my hometown of New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, and after seven years as a Billiken, I am happier than ever to be here. In addition to the yearly immersion trip to the Navajo Nation, I currently organize our intern program, the Nature Retreat, and much of Campus Ministry's online and social media presence. It is such a thrill to accompany students, especially in encountering new and challenging cultural circumstances. Outside of work time, I am currently studying psychoanalytic theory, and I enjoy cooking, watching Doctor Who with my wonderful spouse Cristina, and exercising like there is no tomorrow.

Although my day job is in the medical device industry, I have had the pleasure of working for campus ministry as the the music coordinator for the better part of 20 years. My ministry started when at the age of 10 I first took an interest in the church organ. I applied my budding piano skills, taught myself a few chords and started regularly playing the 7:30am mass and all-school masses at St. Joe's in Cottleville, MO. Over the years, SLU's Mass Choir has grown from a small ensemble for Sunday evening student liturgies to 50-60 singers and 12-15 pieces in the band/orchestra. I am proud to have been part of the core planning team for the Papal Youth Rally in 1999, music director of Youth Sing Praise (Belleville, IL) in 1998 and 1999, and music minister for hundreds of weddings, funerals, and services over the past 30+ years. I am serving presently on the liturgy planning committee for the National Association of Pastoral Ministers' national convention which is going to be in St. Louis next summer.

Namaste Billikens! This will be my third year working at SLU and I am delighted to be the campus minister in Griesedieck Hall. Born and raised in Missouri, my hometown is Jefferson City, but I have enjoyed living in St. Louis for the last four years. Prior to working at SLU, I worked at a local Catholic Publishing Company as an acquisitions editor, and before that I spent a year with the Salesian Lay Mission Program where I served in Tumkur, India and Kathmandu, Nepal. My graduate degree is from the University of Dayton where I also worked as a graduate assistant campus minister in residence life. From 2001 to 2006, I was the full time campus minister at the Newman Center on Mizzou's (UMC) campus. My leisurely activities include reading, writing, drinking coffee, gardening, running, travel, and spending time in the great outdoors.

Hola SLU. I am looking forward to beginning my first year serving as the coordinator of the retreat program and campus minister for medical and allied health students, especially since I am a physical therapist and athletic trainer. In fact, I received my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from SLU. In addition, I was ordained a priest at College Church, so it is good to be back. True to my background, I enjoy watching, reading about, and playing sports, especially Soccer. Since I am from New Orleans, I am a huge Saints fan, but do not worry I am big Cardinals fan as well. Outside of sports, I enjoy watching movies, cooking, and visiting with my family, friends, and Jesuit brothers.

Hello! This will be my fourth year working at SLU and I am thrilled to be working with in the Micah Progam and Campus Ministry Interns this year and in Marguerite and Pruellage Halls! I grew up Cincinnati, OH and began my journey at SLU as an undergrad when I studied Psychology and Theology. After a year as a campus ministry intern and a couple years working in a parish, I decided a career in campus ministry was the right path for me. I am also on the leadership team for the Fresh Look retreat, facilitate a CLC, coordinate music for our monthly Taizé prayer service, and help with weekly Spanish Mass. When I'm not working I love exploring the city on my bike, taking runs through forest park, getting coffee/brunch with friends, reading poetry, enjoying the local music scene, and traveling all over the world.

Hello to the SLU community! I'm overjoyed to be a part of the Campus Ministry team, serving out of Reinert Hall. I am a St. Louis native. Prior to working for SLU, I worked as a chaplain at a nearby hospital. Much of my volunteer life in the past decade and a half has been mentoring and walking alongside college students in life, faith and servant leadership; I've long harbored admiration and respect for the ethos that permeates this campus in particular. Away of work, I enjoy cooking, hiking, music, reading, taking in concerts every now and again, landscaping, road trips, following St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and hanging out with my family: wife Courtney, daughter Zoa, and dog Bruno.

I am in my eighth year at SLU - all in Campus Ministry. My three sons and I live in south city and attend Rockhurst University, Saint Louis University High School and St. Gabriel the Archangel. I attended Quincy University and completed my degree through SLU's School of Professional Studies. I enjoy running, tennis, baking, bike trail riding, basketball, yard work, car and train travel and games - especially Bananagrams, Apples to Apples with my family and cards. Some interesting facts about me are that I can walk on stilts, have never had my ears pierced, can make an acorn whistle and can sing a song that lists all 50 states. I feel so fortunate to be able to work with and meet students every day. Please stop by the Eckelkamp Center to say hi.

Abbie Amico

Abbie Amico

Hi everyone! My name is Abbie Amico and I am so excited to be working for campus ministry this year. I am a senior studying theology and am from the lovely town of South Bend, IN. This year I hope to explore the liturgy in regards to the role it plays in spirituality in action. My time abroad in the last few years has given me the capacity to experience this overlap in its earliest stages, so I am excited to learn, share, grow and do more! In my free time I like reading nerdy books, watching LOST with my roommates, face-timing my little brothers & sisters, and being outside with coffee if at all possible.

Minors: Urban Poverty Studies, Global and Local Social Justice, Philosophy

Hello! I am in my senior year here at Saint Louis University, and already loving every minute of it! I was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee and came into SLU as a Theology major. I'm now beginning the earnest search and discernment process for my post-graduation life. My hopes and dreams are to pursue my Master's Degree in Divinity (potentially taking a gap-year before doing so) that will lead me into a career in Campus Ministry. I can even see a PhD in Theology on the horizon...For the next few years my fiance Jay and I will be going wherever the good Spirit moves us, while planning our wedding for late summer 2017. My happy-s include gardening, reading, lively discussions, singing, not wearing shoes, cleaning my room, watching Doctor Who and Call the Midwife, travelling, climbing mountains, sitting around campfires, and typing on old-fashioned keyboards. I'm incredibly grateful to get to serve my fellow Billikens this year, working in Campus Ministry on various Faith and Justice activities, retreats, and liturgy-related things. I am most excited about the wonderful co-workers I get to share this year with (and my upcoming 21st birthday!)

Alexandra Krudop

Alé Krudop

Hello! My name is Alé Krudop and I am a senior from Fort Wayne, IN studying Education and Special Education. I hope to find a great intersection in being a teacher and minister when I grow up. I enjoy learning to play the ukelele and guitar, cooking (and eating), cuddling with my dogs or any dogs really, and spending time outside- especially biking or rollerblading. This year I will be working with Christian Life Communities and Greek life. I am excited to learn and grow with these organizations as we find deeper connections with them and SLU as well as the Jesuit mission.

Bryan Melcher

Bryan Melcher

Howdy, My name is Bryan Melcher. I am serving as an intern this year. I hail from the wonderful city of Nashville, Tennessee. However, my family moved a bit when I was a kid, so I am also conversant about Detroit, and New York. I study Theology and Political Science, because I believe it is vitally important to be engaged with God and in the world. I have a great love of people, and music. I split my time as an intern in Griesedieck Hall and co-coordinating the music ministries on campus: Upper Room and Taizé. I hope to see and pray with you this year!

Katie Reitano

Hello, Billikens! I am a senior this year majoring in Theology and Music with a minor in Catholic Studies. Originally from Belleville, IL, I have enjoyed getting to live on this side of the river and know St. Louis even better. I am excited to be serving as an intern this year, working in Reinert Hall, liturgy, and retreats. When I'm not busy working or studying, I love to sing, play piano, cross-stitch, and be with my closest friends and family.

Theresa Schafer

Hey SLU family! I'm a senior majoring in Theology and minoring in Philosophy and Urban Poverty Studies. Originally, I studied Physical Therapy at SLU, but I changed my major just last semester- it's never too late to follow your passion! I'm so thrilled to be working on the Campus Ministry team this year, where I hope to share some of my passion for a faith that does justice that I've learned about in my years here at SLU, as well as the recent summer I spent in Nicaragua. This year, I will be helping out with retreats, CLCs, music ministry, and residence hall ministry. In my free time, I enjoy getting coffee with friends and mentors at one of St. Louis' many incredible coffee shops, writing or reading poetry (check out Gerard Manley Hopkins!), crafting, cooking, and dreaming about returning to Nicaragua!
