Saint Louis University Cancer Center is the first in Missouri and southern Illinois to offer the CyberKnife®, a revolutionary and highly precise system to deliver frameless stereotactic radiosurgical treatment to tumors and lesions previously considered inoperable or inaccessible by radiation.
The CyberKnife represents new hope for patients with complex tumors and other lesions of the brain, neck and spine. The flexibility of the CyberKnife also allows for treatment of tumors and lesions of the lung, liver, pancreas and prostate.
In addition, the CyberKnife offers treatment options for patients who have received maximum external beam doses. Saint Louis University Hospital operates the CyberKnife in partnership with the physicians at SLUCare and will rely on the expertise of its surgeons and radiation oncologists to apply this outpatient, noninvasive system to treat patients.
