- Handshake - New Career Services Database
SLU's Online Career Database
Career Services has transitioned employment databases from CareerLink to Handshake.
Handshake is now officially available for employers and students! Current students were automatically transitioned to the new database and can log in using mySLU.
If you are a new student and would like to create an account before you register for classes, you may do so at http://slu.joinhandshake.com with your mySLU account information.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT FRAUDULENT JOB POSTINGS
To the Saint Louis University Student Community:
The Career Services office would like to make all students aware of the increase in "scam" employment opportunities. Nationally, career centers have reported an increase in the amount of fraudulent postings submitted through a variety of on-line venues.
As job seekers, please be cautious of positions that require you to provide your personal money up front for a "start up" business; positions that provide you payment before any service has been rendered; and especially those that ask you to deposit a check in your bank account, and "wire" money to an unknown individual. In the link below, the Federal Trade Commission has created a short video to assist in identifying potential scams:
Please know that our office is doing everything possible to try and ensure that these postings do not get submitted through our on-line job database, Handshake.
If you are ever suspicious about a position located in Handshake, or any website, feel free to contact the Career Services office and speak with a staff member to help assist you with this matter.
