Hispanic Health Interest Group (SLU School of Medicine)

Description: The Hispanic Health Interest Group (HHIG) operates a couple of programs. One is called Girls in the Know, is a project that works with female caregivers and their daughters to help them grow through learning about difficult issues including body image, puberty, sexual health, and more. Additionally, they serve as Guias, or guides, at Casa de Salud, accompanying Spanish speaking patients to their medical appointments to serve as patient advocates, a guide, and an interpreter if necessary.
