Improving Pediatric Residents Training in Suicide and Depression Detection

Description: This project aims to address pediatric care depression, and enhance suicide screening skills to decrease suicide attempts and completions in Saint Louis (STL) County. CHADS Coalition in collaboration with Saint Louis University (SLU) School of Medicine will develop pediatric resident training in suicide prevention. This effort is consistent with the CDC۪s Strategic Direction for the Prevention of Suicidal Behavior and supports the MO Suicide Prevention Plan which calls for building partnerships among individuals, families, community and acute mental health care providers, as well as academic institutions.
