Description: In partnership with Independent Youth, Saint Louis University hosts the annual Teen Entrepreneurship Symposium. Over 1,000 teens from around the region (as far as Kansas City and Chicago) learn more about entrepreneurship from a keynote speaker (past speakers have included Maxine Clark, founder of Build-A-Bear, Mike DeLazzer, founder of Redbox, and Jim McKelvey, co-founder of Square). In addition, 15 nationally recognized teen entrepreneurs are flown in from around the country to lead the youth in various breakout sessions. One of these teen entrepreneurs was the first High School investment the Sharks made on the TV show, Shark Tank. She is now a junior at SLU and her second business counts Warren Buffett as her first investor.
