Programming with .NET Certificate
As Microsoft's computing platform, Microsoft .NET has changed the focus from individual devices or websites to a group of devices, computers, and services that work together to deliver information any time, any place, and on any device. The .NET platform has matured quickly to become a robust and versatile technology platform for enterprise Windows-based and Web-based application development and systems integration. More and more, companies that were traditionally Java/JavaEE based are strategically deploying both technologies by leveraging the strengths of each technology stack. Programmers have shifted to new tools, targeting a framework called the .NET Base Class Library (BCL) and producing an Intermediate Language (IL) that will, under all circumstances, be executed by the .NET runtime. With its emphasis on XML technology and Web services, .NET makes Application development easier and allows businesses of all sizes to take advantage of the ease-of-use afforded by Microsoft's integrated development environment to rapidly create new applications. This certificate helps students develop core .NET programming skills and get up to speed quickly with C#, object-oriented programming, and developing and deploying applications on the latest .NET platform. The program is fast-paced and code-intensive. Upon successful completion, students will have a solid understanding of the .NET platform. All classes are hands-on and require some prior programming experience. It is suggested that you complete the core classes in the order listed below. Electives can be taken in any order, although most require one or more prerequisites.
