Program Dates and Admission Requirements
How may one enroll in a CPE program?

- Send completed application form with the required essays and documents to the center of choice.
- Arrange an interview with the ACPE supervisor or an interviewer approved by the center to which one is applying.
Basic Requirements for Potential Students:
- High school diploma; college or graduate degree preferred.
- Health-screening (PPD for all students; physical also required for resident)
- Oral and writing fluency in American English
- Facility in using computer word-processing systems
- Capacity to keep confidentiality, to endure high levels of stress, and to be flexible
Who is eligible to enroll?
For Units of CPE:
- An individual who, through a written application and an admissions interview, has demonstrated the ability to participate in CPE and the clinical environment.
- Such other requirements or education and experience as determined by current admission policy.
For Supervisory CPE programs:
- An individual who has successfully completed several units of CPE and has demonstrated in practice and consultation a readiness to utilize Supervisory CPE, usually one who has a theological degree and several years of pastoral experience.
CPE is Outcome-based Education
The three types of CPE-Level I, Level II, and Supervisory Education-are
distinguished by objectives and outcomes. Outcomes define competencies
