Tech Seminars
This
series of short technology workshops is designed to help faculty
explore new technologies and discuss how they might be incorporated
into the classroom.
Twitter
September 15 from Noon to 1:00 pm in Verhaegen 212
Twitter is a social networking tool that lets you post short updates
from a mobile device or directly from the web. Is it just the
latest fad or is there a use in the classroom? We'll explore these
questions in this session.
Interactive
PowerPoint
October 6 from Noon until 1:00 in Verhaegen 212
PowerPoint is a staple in the classroom, but it is easy for it
to become formulaic. This session will demonstrate easy ways to
use PowerPoint 2007 to create interactive slides that help facilitate
active learning techniques.
Flip
to YouTube
November 10 from Noon until 1:00 pm in Verhaegen 212.
Flip video cameras are basically jump drives that shoot video.
This session will demonstrate how simple it is to shoot short
videos that can then be uploaded directly to YouTube for classroom
use.
Registration
is Required. Seating is limited: priority registration will be
given to teaching faculty.
