Welcome to the Psychology of Sleep-- the course that promises to keep you awake during class but not during sleep.  This is a survey course of the scientific perspective on sleep.

On this page you will find announcements & updates regarding class matters.  It is especially important to check this page if you were unable to come to class.  This is also the homepage (not this page however) where you can upload exam questions and references (2 separate pages on this homepage).

WebCT Access
Please note that you can now access WebCT.  You can access it by clicking on PSYA415-01 of the WebCT menu.  You will need to provide your UserID (same as for e-mail) and your password, which is the last 4 digits of your social security number (or student ID number).

Mistake in Syllabus
Page 1 of the syllabus has a mistake.  Under EVALUATION POLICIES, it should read "The topic of the research paper must be chosen on or before February 13th and can come from any of the topics covered in Pressman and Orr (or approved by me).

Mistake in Pressman & Orr

P. 178, 5th paragraph, the first sentence should read, "Stage 2 sleep is most...
with low muscle tension and decreased amounts of slow, rolling eye movements"  (instead of increased).

 Dean's Statement on Academic Honesty
     The Dean has requested that the following statement regarding academic honesty be included in all announcements/
     syllabi. Students are expected to be honest in their academic work. The University reserves the right to penalize any
     student whose academic conduct at any time is, in its judgment, detrimental to the University. Such conduct shall include
     cases of plagiarism, collusion, cheating, giving or receiving or offering or soliciting information in examinations, or the use
     of previously prepared material in examinations or quizzes. Violations should be reported to your course instructor, who
     will investigate and adjudicate them according to the POLICY ON ACADEMIC HONESTY of the College of Arts &
     Sciences. If the changes are found to be true, the student may be liable for academic or disciplinary probation,
     suspension, or expulsion by the University.
