Music Ministry

Music Ministry at the College Church supports and encourages the active participation of the assembly in music and song. The College Church Choir, the Children's Choir at Christmas, and the cantors and musicians who play at weekly liturgies all share in this mission to foster prayer through prayerful and uplifting music.

The College Church Choir is a 40 voice choir that was founded and influenced by the St. Louis Jesuits in their early days. Music is led by the choir at the 10:30 a.m. mass and by cantors and instrumentalists at the Saturday 5:15 p.m. and Sunday 8:30 a.m. masses.

The choir rehearses weekly, with an additional warm-up on Sunday mornings before the 10:30 a.m. mass. The Choir usually is on Summer break during July and the first half of August.

For most Sundays, the music we are using is listed on the Sunday Web Site of the St. Louis University Center for Liturgy.

We invite anyone who might have an interest in Music Ministry, whether as a cantor, choir member or instrumentalist, to contact the Director of Music at the number or e-mail address below.
