Outreach Program: Operates on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings offering assistance for birth certificates and MO State ID cards. Volunteers staff the entire program and it runs solely on private donations and grants. To volunteer, receive services, or donate, click here
St. Vincent de Paul Young Adult Conference: Young adults, ages 21-40, who serve the marginalized and disenfranchised within our parish boundaries providing resources for needs such as utility, rent, medical, and food. The group meets two times a month for conference meetings and visits consumers throughout out the month. Click here to learn more on becoming involved.
Legal Clinic: Legal Clinic is on the 3rd Wednesday on each month in conjunction with our Outreach Program. Lawyer provides legal advice and counsel only. We do not provide advice or counsel on traffic, criminal, divorce, or warrants. Must meet low-income requirements. Click here to learn more. Xavier Winter Inn: Operates December-March on Wednesday and Thursday evenings when temperature drops to 20 degrees or below. Our emergency winter shelter houses up to 14 homeless guests each night. The shelter operates through the generosity of volunteers and donations. To donate or become a volunteer, click here. If you are in need of shelter during the winter months, our shelter only accepts guests through the Winter Outreach Lottery Program that takes place at Centenary Church at 12:00pm when it is 20 degrees or below on a Wednesday and or Thursday. We do not take walk ups or referrals from other agencies/organizations.
Community Garden: With Loyola Academy, parishioners plant and tend a garden from Spring-Fall within walking distance of the parish and Loyola Academy. All ages are welcome. Click here to learn more about becoming involved.
Sandwich Program: On the 2nd Sunday of each month, parishioners and volunteers gather in the parish center to make sandwiches for Karen House Catholic Worker following the 10:30 a.m. All ages welcome. Feel free to drop by on any 2nd Sunday
Spirituality & Recovery Groups: In collaboration with the Ignatian Spirituality Project and the ISP St. Louis Volunteer Team, parishioners volunteer to facilitate weekly faith-sharing groups for homeless men and women using 12-step and Ignatian Spirituality. YMCA Literacy Program: Parishioners serve as literacy tutors through the YMCA Literacy Council. The Literacy Council provides all training, materials, and matches tutors with students. Parishioner tutors gather at least once a month to share with each other about their experiences and lend tips to each other they've found helpful in tutoring their student. Hot Stuff/ Cool Stuff: Occurs two times during the year, offering parishioners an opportunity to share a meal with the marginalized and disenfranchised in our community. Our programs are possible through generous donations from parishioners, community, and foundations. However, the need for all of our direct service programs continues to grow.
