Kathleen Wright, EdD, MPH is an Associate Professor of Health Management & Policy. She serves as Director of the Heartland Centers, which includes the Heartland Public Health Preparedness Center and the Heartland Public Health Training Center.

The focus of this work is the fields of public health workforce and leadership development, emergency management and crisis leadership development, learning management, competence-based curriculum development and performance evaluation. Her work also includes direction of the Heartland Public Health Workforce Learning Management System, the Leadership Learning Portal and the National Public Health Leadership Development Network.

Dr. Wright's academic and practice teaching includes courses in public health practice, leadership and transformational change, and emergency management and crisis leadership.

Her primary research interests are in workforce and leadership development, workforce standards and agency accreditation, community benefit and health improvement, organizational and community adaptation and change, and communication and network analysis. She is a member of the International Leadership Association and the American Public Health Association, and serves on the Public Health Accreditation Board's National Workforce Think Tank Group.
