Katie has been the Manager of the Prevention Research Center in St. Louis since 1997. In this capacity, she serves as the center's primary liaison with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; faculty, staff, and students of both universities; the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services; and community coalitions. As Center Manager, Katie has wide-ranging experience in the day-to-day management of large and complex projects.
She holds both MPH and MS (medical dietetics) degrees from Saint Louis University. In addition, Katie is an adjunct Instructor with Saint Louis University's Department of Community Health and teaches a graduate level course in Grant writing.
In the past, Katie was manager of health promotion with BJC Health System in St. Louis and was responsible for the coordination of all community education activities in the area of women's health. She also served as project coordinator for BJC's Women's Health Coach Primary Prevention Study. Nationally, she is the immediate past co-chair of the PRC Program Committee, which oversees the development of the National Meeting on Chronic Disease Prevention and Control.
Her professional interests are varied but focus mostly on chronic disease prevention and health promotion in individuals and communities.
