Keith Elder, Ph.D, MPH, MPA serves as Professor and Chair for the Saint Louis University Department of Health Management & Policy. Prior to joining the faculty at SLU, Dr. Elder as faculty at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of South Carolina.
His research focuses on improving health outcomes for men, predictors of health disparities, chronic disease management, health information technology as a means to promote health, aging, and disability. He uses the evidence from his research to inform health policy and health care delivery. Dr. Elder serves on the editorial board of the American Journal of Public Health and the Journal of Health Administration Education. He is also Founding Editor-in-Chief for Aims Public Health.
Dr. Elder's research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Dr. Elder enjoys teaching and mentoring and has published extensively on health outcomes.
