Lisa Larson-Bunnell, JD, MHA, CPHRM

Adjunct Assistant Professor of Health Management and Policy


Lisa earned her B.A. in Political Science from Knox College in 2001,
JD with Health Law Certificate from Saint Louis University in 2005,
and MHA from Saint Louis University School of Public Health in 2005.
She has worked with BJC HealthCare since 2006. Currently, she is a
Compliance Manager for BJC HealthCare in St. Louis. In this role, she
is responsible for the assessment, development and implementation of
system-wide initiatives to ensure compliance with applicable laws and

Prior to joining the Compliance department, Lisa worked in the Risk
Management department at Barnes-Jewish Hospital where she focused on
blending Patient Safety and Risk Management strategies. Lisa has
developed a special focus on facilitating a "Just Culture" in
healthcare and presented on the Just Culture at the American Society
of HealthCare Risk Managers 2011 Annual Conference. Lisa is the past
president of the Saint Louis Area Healthcare Risk Managers
professional society. Before joining BJC, she worked as an
Administrative Fellow in the Veterans Administration Hospital system
and in a plaintiffs' personal injury firm in St. Louis.

Lisa lives in St. Louis and enjoys doing volunteer work, watching
movies, spending time with her family, and especially playing with her
dog, Betty.
