In Memory of Reverend John J. Flanagan, SJ (top right)

The Alumni Association of Saint Louis University, established the Reverend John J. Flanagan, SJ Lecture on October 22, 1968, in honor of Father Flanagan's outstanding contribution to graduate education in health care management.

Father Flanagan, working closely with SLU, was instrumental in the initiation of a graduate degree program in hospital administration. He served as founder and director of that degree program, which is now the Master of Health Administration within the College for Public Health & Social Justice.

SLU is fortunate to have had an individual like Father Flanagan, who established the values and the level of quality that have become expected for the last 66 years of the MHA program.
