Criminal Justice Professor Receives Don Brennan Humanitarian Award

Norm White

Norman White, Ph.D., associate professor and director of the criminology and criminal justice program, received the Don Brennan Humanitarian Award for his work with the St. Louis community.

White has worked extensively with other SLU researchers to examine the role of educational performance on the development of antisocial and delinquent behavior. His community work in youth violence prevention has fostered collaborative relationships with local organizations, stakeholders and political leadership.

The award is named after Donald Brennan, Ph.D., former dean of the University's College of Arts and Sciences, who passed away November 2011. White is the second faculty member to receive this award.

White was presented with the award on January 29 at a SLU men's basketball game during a timeout in the first half.
