Suzanne Wood, PhD is a Lieutenant Commander and Medical Service Corps Officer in the US Navy Reserve, and has over 22 years military experience. For the past six years, she served as Deputy Program Director and Navy/Coast Guard representative for the Army-Baylor Graduate Program in Health & Business Administration.
She is a Fellow, American College of Health Care Executives (ACHE), and past chair for the Lewis E. Angelo Professional Symposium, a professional meeting for U.S. Navy health care executives. She also serves as Fellow, Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). Most recently, she joined the faculty of Saint Louis University as Assistant Professor, Health Management & Policy, where she teaches resident and distance-learning courses in management, strategy, and leadership.
Dr. Wood has been involved in a number of strategic management initiatives with the Department of Defense, the U.S. State Department, and government health officials from a various nations. Accordingly, she recently returned from Colombo, Sri Lanka where she delivered a course on strategic management to the Ministry of Health and military leadership.
Dr. Wood's research interests include strategic management of healthcare organizations, international management, management theory, and quality improvement in healthcare delivery.
