Outstanding Senior Awards
The College of Arts & Sciences annually presents outstanding senior awards to encourage scholastic and creative achievements among undergraduate students and to celebrate excellence in the senior class. Since departments provide the means and atmosphere for students to excel in the various disciplines, faculty members in each department offering a major choose a student to receive this award.
Each department should choose one student from among those majoring in its discipline(s). The student should have completed 90 or more undergraduate hours by the beginning of the term in which he or she is nominated. Each department establishes criteria and procedures for identifying the annual recipient of the award. The faculty of each department should approve the department's standards and procedures. Names need to be received in the Office of the Dean by March 7 or on the following Monday if March 7 falls on a weekend. At an awards reception in early April, each awardee will receive a college medallion engraved with his or her name, the name of the award, and the date.
