Dr. Monti is Professor of Public Policy Studies at Saint Louis University. He is the author of over 40 scholarly articles and six books on subjects ranging from educational reform and inner-city redevelopment to youth gangs, and American urban history and civic culture. Professor Monti is an expert on community development and the public contributions of private enterprises. The founder of InnerCity Entrepreneurs, a technical assistance program for small businesses that are attempting to grow, his research has been utilized nationally to promote the development of non-profit organizations into small and medium-sized businesses and the expansion of existing businesses into new markets. He holds a provisional patent on a revolutionary program to expand the wealth-building capacity of consumers and has developed new devices to fund the expansion of small business in minority neighborhoods. A former Woodrow Wilson Fellow, Professor Monti has consulted with private companies and agencies of the federal government.
