EDUCATION
Wynne Moskop
received a Ph.D. in Political Science from George Washington University
in 1985, specializing in political theory, American policy-making,
and constitutional law.
RESEARCH
Dr. Moskop's
primary research is on the theory and practice of political leadership,
understood broadly as a cultural and collective process that relates
formal political leaders and leaders of social movements to their
respective publics. Her most recent article, "Prudence, Imprudence,
and the Puzzle of Bill Clinton," appeared in Tempered Strength:
Studies in the Nature and Scope of Prudential Leadership, edited
by Ethan Fishman (2002). Currently, she is working on a book that
elaborates the implications of Aristotelian prudence for contemporary
political leaders, particularly U.S. presidents. She also has written
on moral and legal aspects of democracy-with regard to the women's
movement, popular culture, and constitutionalism-and on the history
of American Studies ("Free Riders or Front Runners: The Role of
Social Scientists in the American Studies Movement," American
Studies, Summer 1999). Her articles and reviews have appeared
in a range of journals, including the Journal of Political Psychology,
the American Political Science Review, American Studies,
The Quarterly Journal of Ideology, and the Journal of
Politics.
