Why study Film?
Film Studies in an 18-hour certificate program in the College of Arts & Sciences that offers students
an interdisciplinary education in the many aspects of cinema, as they are reflected in fine & performing arts,
communication, cotemporary criticism, history, and languages and cultures. The program is directed at students who wish to acquire a solid knowledge in film history and analysis. Its interdisciplinary character enables students to encounter film as a recent yet powerful art form, and to gauge its contribution to human cultures.
The interdisciplinary nature of this program is consistent with today's world as a multi-faceted, mutli-medialized,
and multi-cultural environment. One of the main benefits of this program would be for students to develop a documented
