Requirements for the Certificate in Spanish

Students must complete the courses SPAN 310-315 and SPAN 410-415 to be eligible to apply towards the Certificate in Spanish.

Students must apply towards the Certificate in Spanish through the College of Arts and Sciences (Verhaegen Hall, Room 218)

When the application is processed and received by the Certificate in Spanish Coordinator (Germán Lorenzo, lorenzog@slu.edu), the student will be contacted in order to schedule a date to take the Certificate in Spanish Comprehensive Test.

The test has different sections to measure the student’s skills in the following units: writing, reading, listening, and speaking.

After the Certificate in Spanish Comprehensive Test the student will have an oral interview as the final section of the evaluation process.
