Faculty & Staff: Director Daniel J. Finucane, Ph.D. Assistant Professor of Theological Studies Dr. Finucane received his Ph.D. in Historical Theology from Saint Louis University. He has an M.A. degree in Religious Studies from SLU and a B.A. in Mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis. Particular areas of interest and research are Foundational Theology, Modern European Theology and the Sensus Fidelium. TH A-100 (MP A-100) Theological Foundations Theology Faculty Barbara W. Blackburn, Ph.D. Adjunct Professor of Systematic Theology Dr. Blackburn received her Ph.D. in Historical Theology from Saint Louis University. She has an M.A. in Religious Studies from SLU and a B.A. in Theological Studies from SLU. Particular areas of interest and research are Moral Theology, Thanatology, Sacramental Theology, and Early Church History. She has published a series of children's religion textbooks entitled "Life Project: Forming Christian Attitudes toward Death and Afterlife." TH A-246 (MP A-281) Theology of the Sacraments Christopher Popravak, O.F.M. Cap. Department of Theological Studies Fr. Popravak received his Ph.D. in Historical Theology from St. Louis University. He received his Masters of Divinity from St. Bernard's Seminary in Rochester, New York and an undergraduate degree in psychology from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Particular areas of interest include Foundational Theology, Religious Experience, Asceticism and Mysticism. TH A-100 (MP A-100) Theological Foundations Regina Siegfried, ASC Department of Theological Studies Sr. Siegfried received her Ph.D. in American Studies with a concentration in American Religious History from Saint Louis University. She has M.A. degrees in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and in Christian Spirituality from the University of Creighton. Particular areas of interest and research are U.S. Catholic history, history of U.S. religious women, and U.S. religious history. TH A-100 (MP A-100) Theological Foundations Kenneth B. Steinhauser Steber Professor in Theological Studies Fr. Steinhauser received his doctorate in theology from the University of Freiburg in Breisgau, his S.T.L. and S.T.B. from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome and his B. A. in philosophy from Niagara University. His area of specialization is patristics and early church history. His current research interests include western theology of the fourth and fifth centuries, Augustine of Hippo and manuscript studies. TH A-222 (MP A-222) Early Church: Faith and Culture English Faculty Donald Stump, Ph.D. Professor of English and Director of the Micah House Program Dr. Stump received his Ph.D. from Cornell University and his A.B. from Grinnell College. Particular areas of interest and research are Renaissance literature, Biblical poetry and narrative, Greco-Roman literature, fantasy, Renaissance epic and drama, and the court literature of Elizabeth I. ENG A-313 (MP A-321) The Bible and Literature History Faculty James Hitchcock, Ph.D. Department of History Dr. Hitchcock received his M.A. and Ph.D. from Princeton University and his A.B. from Saint Louis University. He has also received honorary D.H.L. degrees from Benedictine College and Franciscan University. Dr. Hitchcock has written seven books and is currently working on his eighth. He has written scholarly and general articles that have appeared in Catholic Historical Review, Bulletin of the Institute for Historical Research, Beacham's Biographical Dictionary, New York Times Magazine, Yale Review, American Scholar, Modern Age, and New Oxford Review, just to name a few. Dr. Hitchcock has also been awarded the Cardinal Wright Award from the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars and the Frederic Ozanam Award from the Society of Catholic Social Scientists. He has previously served as secretary of the Sixteenth-Century Studies Conference and president of the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars. HS A-310 (MP A-356) The Reformation Era
