and Sciences Technology Survey
The A&S
Faculty Council Technology Committee is conducting a survey on technology
issues within the College. The survey looks at
three basic areas: Technology Needs, Service, and Email.
The survey should take about
5-10 minutes to complete. All Faculty, Staff,
and Teaching
and Researching Graduate Students are asked to
participate in the survey which will be used for future planning within
the College. Please
take a few minutes to complete this survey on something that is continuing
to influence our daily lives more and more.

ANNUAL
COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES EXCELLENCE AWARDS CEREMONY
The
annual College of Arts and Sciences Excellence Awards Ceremony will
be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2007
from 3-5 p.m. in the St. Francis Xavier
(College) Church Ballroom.
Faculty
from the College of Arts & Sciences as well as students with declared
majors in the College are encouraged to submit nominations for the College's
Annual Excellence Awards. One full-time professor in each of the College
divisions (humanities, sciences, social sciences) will be chosen for
an Excellence in Teaching Award. An Excellence in Mentoring Award will
be given to one full-time faculty member from the College.
Submit
your nomination by dropping it off in Fusz Hall, Second Floor or by
email to thienlr@slu.edu.

Reinert Center for Teaching Excellence: Learning to Teach On-Line
A
Conversation About On-Line Pedagogy

Faculty of all experience levels are invited to join an informal conversation
around "what works" in the on-line environment.
The
Reinert Center for Teaching Excellence is
pleased to announce two new resources for faculty. The Center is now
publishing a monthly electronic newsletter on Learning Technologies.

teaching topics. The current topic is Teaching Millennial Students.
Upcoming topics include plagiarism and classroom civility. Again, contact

Twilight Retreat: Sandra
Spencer will present "Companions on the Journey: An Advent Reflection"
at the Advent Twilight Retreat from 5-8:30 p.m. at Manresa Center.
Ms. Spencer is an experienced retreat director and former director
of pastoral care at SLU Hospital. The evening is open to all faculty
and staff. The program will include a simple meal, presentations and

and The Spiritual Crisis of His Age for The Francis A. Schaeffer
Institute of Covenant Seminary's "Friday Nights @ the Institute"
at Kaldi's Coffee House in Kirkwood.
Dr.
Bush's book, Mark Twain and The Spiritual Crisis of His Age,
was reviewed by John P. Cleary, November 28, 2006, in the Elmira Star
Gazette (NY).
