Student Organizations
The Pre-Health Professions Club Professional schools look to see if you have developed socially as well as academically. You may wish to become a member of the Pre-health Professions Club. Meetings are held about once a month. These meetings are an excellent forum for exchanging ideas with other students and to learn more about the health professions. Please see the schedule of meetings under announcements. Alpha
Epsilon Delta The Saint Louis University Chapter, Missouri Beta Chapter, is one of 3 2 chapters in Region II (the Midwestern States). In even numbered years, AED holds national conventions to conduct the Society's business. Each chapter is encouraged to send a student delegate. The conventions provide an opportunity to meet pre-health professions students from other colleges and universities and exchange ideas. Each year, AED awards scholarships in each of the five AED regions. Each chapter nominates one outstanding senior for the scholarship competition. To become a member of AED, you must complete three semesters of your premedical curriculum with grade averages of 3.30 (overall cumulative) and 3.30 (math/science cumulative). Officers of the Missouri Beta Chapter at Saint Louis University serve as the officers of the Pre-health Professions Club. Members of the Club are considered associate members of the Saint Louis University Chapter of AED (They cannot become members of AED until completion of the three semesters of a pre-health professions curriculum with the requisite grade averages). For further information about AED, contact the Office at prehealth@slu.edu.
