The inaugural meeting of CFAS took place on September 22, 2005. Here are the minutes of that meeting, compiled by Greg Come, CFAS Secretary:

I. Members present: Comer, Fitzgerald, Martin, Minteer, Potvin, Thacker

II. Invited guests: S. Magoc, B. Walter

III. Report from Director of CFAS (Potvin)
1. CFAS Goals
a) Multi-disciplinary center
b) Share info on fluids
c) Promote research on fluids
d) Joint research projects
e) Vehicle to establish contacts and apply for grants
2. CFAS Money
a) Support guest who will give talks
b) Support students presenting papers
c) Seed money for experimentalists
3. CFAS web-page: under preparation; linked to CFAS member’s websites
4. CFAS action-items
a) Acquire hardware for center
b) Joint applications for, eg., a Beowulf cluster
c) Bring in E&AS, and other, faculty
5. Plan on monthly talks, eg. members and/or guests

IV. Colloquium delivered by G.L. Comer titled:
‘‘Do Neutron Star Gravitational Waves Carry Superfluid Imprints?’’
