“Innovative Morality”
The basic principle of every moral system is to do good and to avoid evil. But, says Josef Fuchs, even this basic ethical principle requires innovation. In a concrete situation we must give an already existing norm the meaning and content it does not have in its abstract formulation. We have the right and, on occasion, the duty to practice innovative morality in our lives.
