The Dead Sea Scrolls have provided significant information on the Palestinian Jewish matrix of Christianity and the ways early Christians formulated their kerygmatic message. While the Christian message itself finds no parallel in the Scrolls, there is nothing, says Father Fitzmyer, that endangers or is detrimental to that message.
