Lisa D'Souza is the Center for Health Law Studies' Health Law and Policy Fellow, funded by a grant from the Missouri Foundation for Health to provide legal analysis, strategy and support for grassroots organizations working for Medicaid expansion and implementation of the Affordable Care Act in Missouri and to mentor law students to develop the next generation of health advocates.
Prior to joining SLU LAW, Lisa worked as an assistant public defender; and a non-profit civil legal services lawyer for Medicaid enrollees, migrant farmworkers, and other vulnerable communities. Before beginning practice as a public interest lawyer, Lisa clerked for a U.S. District Court judge in the Southern District of Texas.
