Professor Sloss filed an amicus brief with U.S. Supreme Court in the consolidated cases of Sanchez-Llamas v. Oregon and Bustillo v. Johnson, which the Court will hear during the 2005-2006 term. Both cases raise questions about the judicial enforcement of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations in U.S. courts.

He also filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, which the Court will hear during the 2005-2006 term. The brief addresses the judicial enforcement of the Geneva Conventions in U.S. Courts.
