Do you have any unusual interests? I don’t have time to follow it closely, but I enjoy watching NASCAR. Brad Keselowski is my favorite driver.
What past experience has had the most impact on your life? Joining Alpha Sigma Alpha and becoming involved with Greek life at UCM transformed me from a shy and insecure girl into a confident young woman. Greek life affords so many different opportunities for service, leadership and socializing. My sorority sisters always believed in me and encouraged me to take on leadership positions within our sorority and the Greek community as a whole.

Law School Snapshot
What do you want to do after you graduate?
Someday, I would like to be a judge.
What makes a successful student?
A lot of law students are “reader/writers,” but I’m a tactile/kinetic learner so I learned to tailor my study methods to my learning style. I do make outlines, but I’ve never used a supplement book. Instead, I do online tutorials, and I record myself reading my outlines. Then I listen to them while running on the treadmill. It sounds weird, but moving around and tiring my body out helps me focus my mind. I also listen to them in the car while I’m driving to my finals and in the study room before the exam starts for one last little push. Your style might be different than mine, but focus on what works for you, not on what everyone else is doing.
What's your best experience at SLU LAW?
I’ve made friends who have become family.
What impresses you most about School of Law professors?
SLU LAW professors are approachable and personable. I always feel comfortable asking questions in class or during office hours. The professors don’t talk down to the students or treat us as inferiors; instead, they seem genuinely focused on helping all of us become as successful as possible.
Spotlight on St. Louis
Where is your favorite place to spend Saturday afternoon in St. Louis? I love to be outdoors, so you can find me hiking one of the area’s many trails or jogging in Creve Coeur Park – it’s a hidden gem in St. Louis County and worth the drive. If I’m feeling lazy I enjoy relaxing at Cedar Lake Cellars winery or hanging out on super-cute Main Street in St. Charles.
What would you tell a prospective student about living in St. Louis? Don’t be afraid to think outside the city limits when you are looking for something to do. St. Louis is great, but the entire region has a lot of different things to offer as well. There really is something for everyone if you’re willing to expand your horizons.
