What past experience has had the most impact on your life? Why? I taught English in South Korea for a year after college and spent the following six months traveling through Asia, Oceania and the South Pacific with a backpack. Part of the trip included spending two months on a sailboat in the South Pacific around Tonga and Fiji. The experience taught me a lot about the world but also a lot about myself. Learning how to adapt and maintain composure in unfamiliar situations has been instrumental.

Law School Snapshot
Why did you want to go to law school?
I wanted to work in the healthcare industry but not on the clinical side. With all the changes taking place to our national healthcare sector, I thought law was a perfect opportunity to find a stimulating career.
How do you balance life and law school?
I try to treat law school as a job and work similar hours each day of the week. I also play basketball and volleyball, spend time with friends, and go to interesting places or events in St. Louis.
What impresses you most about School of Law professors?
I am impressed by their availability and interaction with students. The SLU professors seem to make it a priority to engage with students outside the classroom, which is awesome.
What professional experiences/summer positions or clinical experience have you had?
I am working as a summer associate this summer at Husch Blackwell.
Spotlight on St. Louis
What would you tell a prospective student about living in St. Louis?
Coming from the east coast, my expectations for St. Louis were not particularly high because I knew very little about the city. I have been incredibly and pleasantly surprised by all the city has to offer. I love the accessibility of sporting events, concerts and great restaurants all over the city. I also love the distinctiveness of all the different neighborhoods. The lack of traffic is amazing, too.
What’s does St. Louis offer that you didn’t expect?
Miller and Coors products
What is one thing that you like that St. Louis has that your hometown does not have?
Sand volleyball leagues
