BE@SLU
BE@SLU
2011
BE@SLU includes experienced undergraduate researchers as peer mentors, who will live with and work with the rest of the program participants. These students will help guide and fuel peer interactions that include practice presentations, informal talks about their research and troubleshooting, and informal gatherings outside of the research environment. Peer mentors will receive an additional stipend to recognize the additional work required to organize the mentoring activities. The peer mentors will work directly with the program organizer to help guide them through the mentoring process.
If you are interested in applying to be a peer mentor, please note it on your application and include additional information about why you’d like to be a peer mentor in your personal statement. Also include in the personal statement activities you’d organize during the summer as social or academic outlets for the participants. Peer mentors will receive a stipend of $4500 for the 2011 session.
