The gap between the
generation of public health knowledge through research and its application in
community and clinical settings remains large. Too often, the products of
research do not get translated or disseminated for use where they are likely
to have positive impacts.
Over
the past year, the Saint Louis University School of Public Health has begun
innovative efforts to enhance its leadership role and activities in
translation and dissemination. Drawing on unanimous support from the faculty
and staff, a broad-based task force is engaged in a strategic planning process
to articulate our approach, organized around this framework:
