Dr.
Homan is an evaluator, biostatistician, and researcher. Her
research activities include statistical modeling, mental health
epidemiology, and community-based interventions for mothers and
children in vulnerable populations, with a particular focus on
violence prevention. Dr. Homan is working with Dr. Terri Weaver
(Psychology) to create the Center for Transdisciplinary Violence
Prevention Research. Dr. Homan has served as an investigator and
principal investigator for HRSA, NIMH, NIAAA, CDC funded projects
related to the mental health of women and children living in
poverty, and the cycle of substance abuse and violence.
As principal investigator for the "IAIMS@SLU"
project funded by the NLM, Dr. Homan is leading the University
strategic planning to create an Integrated Academic Information
Management System (IAIMS) to improve research knowledge
management, access, and dissemination. Dr. Homan is active in the
Statistics section of the American Public Health Association,and
serves as a reviewer for the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement
of Science and Technology (OCAST), the National Library of
Medicine (NLM), PsychCritiques, and various journals.
