Dr. Zhu came to Epidemiology department with
training in epidemiology, toxicology preventive medicine, and
biostatistics. Her research interests
include the environmental determinants of breast cancer and the
interactions of environmental factors with others. She has
experience in the design and conduct of case-control, prospective
cohort, and cross-sectional studies that explore the etiology and
prevention of diseases. In addition, she has experience conducting
laboratory studies on the molecular level
(DNA mutation or chromosome aberration)
and cell/tissue level (cancer cell culture). Dr. Zhu has also conducted
animal test models
(pre-clinical trials) for food
and environmental pollutants. Finally, Dr.
Zhu has expertise in food toxicology and reproductive health associated
with environmental pollutants.
