Master of Health Administration and Juris Doctor (MHA/JD)

The MHA/JD program provides training in law and health management and policy. Graduates are highly sought after by law firms specializing in health law and by health services organizations and government agencies. 

The first year of this joint degree program is spent entirely in the School of Law—which U.S. News & World Report typically ranks first or second in the nation. The following three years blend the required MHA courses with courses in the School of Law.

Health Care Organization • Health Information Systems • Health Care Economics • Managerial Epidemiology • Management of Human Resources • Managerial Environmental and Occupational Health • Health Operations Management • Management of Health Care Organization • Health Care Financial Management • Financial Aspects of Managed Care • Health Care Ethics in a Pluralistic Society • Strategic Management in Health Care • Principles of Biostatistics • Introduction to Health Care Accounting • Health Services Management Rounds • MHA Internship • One MHA elective 

Total Credit Hours: 124 

JOINT DEGREES 

Students interested in joint degree programs must be admitted through the regular admission process by each school. Students should apply simultaneously and should indicate that they are doing so on each application. Required courses must be completed in each school.
