Smaller,
dynamic class sizes
SLU School
of Public Health is one of the more modest-sized accredited
schools in the nation, so students can be assured that most
classes will be smaller, thus affording ample opportunities for
discussions and access to the teacher. The School has a ratio
of students to FT faculty of about 7.5 to one. Because they are
smaller, some classes are held in the relaxed and collegial
setting of a seminar room. This helps to create an atmosphere
in which students and faculty are mutually involved in the
learning enterprise and gives students a great sense of
“belonging” at SLU SPH.
“The classroom style as well as the diversity of students are
both assets to the program. Classroom sizes are small, and allow
for personal interaction and growth through sharing and gaining
knowledge from and with professors as well as fellow students.”
