Saint Louis University Criminology and Criminal Justice Degree OverviewSaint Louis University's undergraduate degree criminology and criminal justice incorporates an interdisciplinary perspective to examine the causes and correlations of criminal behavior and the institutions that respond to such behavior. If you choose to major in criminology and criminal justice as an undergraduate at SLU, you will get a well-rounded academic orientation to the nature of criminal offending and victimization. You will examine law enforcement, community and institutional corrections, and court administration and the law.
Offered by the College for Public Health and Social Justice, SLU's criminology and criminal justice degree program offers students an opportunity to complete a field work practicum. In addition to that valuable, hands-on experience, you will also have the chance to explore areas of criminology and criminal justice by volunteering in one of more than 250 St. Louis-area social service agencies that work with the University.

Undergraduate criminology and criminal justice students who plan to go on to law school can take advantage of a specialized track that combines traditional legal studies with criminology and criminal justice courses. You'll also be able to customize your degree with electives, including those exploring race and crime, criminal investigations, juvenile justice, and understanding serial killers and career criminals.
Some students may also choose to take honors-level criminology and criminal justice courses in addition to honors core courses.
